INDEPENDENT CELEBRANT SERVICES

Weddings

A celebrant led ceremony gives you all the flexibility to have the ceremony that you want. Making it special and a ceremony to remember.

Whether you just want a simple wedding or something more extravagant, I will work with you to create a ceremony that is unique and special.

Choose the location:

As long as you have the permission of the landowner, you can hold your wedding, wherever you want.  It does not have to be a licenced premises, you just get the legal stuff done before, or after if you wish.

So, beach, woodland, up a mountain or in your garden, it is up to you. A small intimate affair or a festival of love, the choice is yours.

Choose the time:

Early morning or a midnight feast, time your vows for when the sun rises or sets.

Plan it around a full moon or a lunchtime event.

I only conduct one ceremony a day, so you can have the time you want.

At a celebrant led ceremony can be done in conjunction with the registrar at an official venue or you can do the statutory marriage or civil partnership at the registry office and then go wild and original for your wedding ceremony.

The ceremony is the core part of your day, it sets the scene for the whole event.

Once you have decided where you are going to have your big day we can discuss the details and how you are going to celebrate it.

Ade was perfect to conduct our ceremony to celebrate our marriage with all our friends and family. The ceremony was the perfect combination of love and romance together with fun and laughter. The sun shone and all our guests had a wonderful time. Ade created a celebration to remember for the rest if our days.

Vow Renewals

Celebrating a special anniversary with your loved one is a way of continuing to share the love of your relationship.

Whatever the milestone you can affirm your feelings for each other. You may now have children and they can be part of your special celebration.

We can embrace elements from your original wedding day and integrate them with original ideas to reflect your current life, friends and family.

We can map out your journey so far, paying tribute to milestones along the way and involving family and friends in this special celebration.

Whether you want to recognise a milestone or celebrate your love for each other, a vow renewal is the perfect way to confirm your love and commitment for each other.

Ceremonies can be of any format, whether you want to recreate your original wedding, with a ceremony and reception or something more alternative.

It is up to you.

It can be as formal or informal as you choose.

Ade created a wonderful ceremony, it was everything we dreamed of and reflected our personalities so well. Thank you ever so much for all of your time, effort and the care put into our special day. We will remember it for years and years.  We could not have wished for anything better.

Thank you Rosa & Mark

Naming

Becoming a parent is an exciting moment in anyone’s life. It can be overwhelming, delightful, and exhausting all at the same time.  But it is worth celebrating and welcoming your newborn child into your family and circle of friends, through a special baby naming ceremony.

A baby naming ceremony is a relaxed alternative to the formal and religious christening.

There are no restrictions, so they can be held anytime and anywhere. Much like a christening, it is not a legal ceremony, just a way of acknowledging the birth of a child. There is no strict format they are completely up to you.

It can be held anywhere if you have the permission of the landowner. They can be held at home, in the woodlands, at the beach or up a mountain. Be as creative as you like.

A naming ceremony is not restricted just to newborn children. Bringing an adopted child into the family, or two sets of siblings coming together or even celebrating a change of name by Deed Poll.

A typical ceremony would begin with a welcome, some explanation about the ceremony and the chosen name and reasons behind the choice. There are often promises by the parents, guardians or god-parents. Again there are no rules here, you may call them what you like.

Within the ceremony, we can include any family traditions or create new ones. We can involve grandparents and other siblings. Even the family dog if you so wish.

So, give me a call about any plans and ideas, and we can start working together to create a beautiful naming ceremony.

Ade created a wonderful ceremony for all our three children and in a teepee too! It was a wonderful day that will be remembered by family and friends forever.

Funerals

The loss of a loved one is one of the hardest times we must face.

I work with local Funeral Directors to ensure that your loved ones get the farewell service that they truly deserve.

This is just to say a very big thank you for leading and conducting the burial service for our mother, Florence, yesterday.

We thought you conducted the short ceremony perfectly, from heading up the little procession to my mother’s grave to the “Thank you”, queuing in the rousing music at the end.

You made the occasion dignified and serious, as it should be, but with words chosen to comfort us and make sure sadness was not the only emotion.

We all found ourselves sharing your love of Barton Glebe – a wonderful place to be buried.

With best wishes, Mary
